We are doing a huge disservice to visitors who come to Raleigh, esp to go to NC State, when they come up Hillsborough Street and turn into campus only to be stopped immediately by a gate. It makes sense to say on the overhead street signs, "no public access 7am-5pm." On a usual day, there are hundred of cars that turn into campus and have to turn around. These drivers become disoriented and their attention turns away from being safe, and just to get back out to Hillsborough Street, which makes it very dangerous to pedestrians when drivers lose their sense of their surroundings.

Thanks for the feedback. NC State Transportation has worked with the City to install several signs on both Hillsborough St and Western Blvd as well as on Dan Allen itself describing the traffic restrictions. We are also working with the GPS providers so that new equipment and future updates will reflect the restrictions.

I've referred this to our Public Works Department. When the staff has had a chance to respond I’ll post an update. Thanks for reporting.

Agreed, as JGuth said, theres a few signs but they are very easy to miss.

I think it would be helpful to hang them by the street lights or next to the street name signs.

The City will install signage on the signal spans at the intersections of Dan Allen Dr with Hillsborough St and Western Blvd. These signs will state “Dan Allen Local Traffic Only M-F 9am-5pm”
