This right-of-way pin oak on 7th Ave. has a branch that is hitting the upper soffit of our house. It needs a trim along with the other right-of-way trees on our corner of 7th & Jewell. Those include 2 pin oaks, a sycamore (on Jewell) and 2 small redbuds that appear to not need any trimming. We do what we can to keep them trimmed however our loper only extends to about 15 feet. We need your help to get this branch away from our house. It's been several years since these right-of-way trees were trimmed by the Forestry Team. Thank you!

Hi City Forestry Department! We have 2 projects for you to work on. Project 1 is that our large pile of limb debris from the storm on 7/8 was not picked up. There is an active ticket for that and I've called on it a couple of times. Until last week, the entire 600 block of Jewell + the intersection we're at was inaccessible due to a large utility project to replace the natural gas line. I think that's why it got left behind during the citywide clean-up. It would not have been possible to drive the grapple truck in front of our house during that project. The street is finally opened back up again. We need this pile picked up. It's a big dry fire hazard! Project 2 is that the large pin oak, a right-of-way tree on 7th Ave., has a branch that is rubbing up against our house. I am unable to attach more than one photo in this ticket but can email additional photos if needed. That tree needs to have that limb zipped and maybe zip a few others that are also very close to the house. It's too high for us to get it with our loper. We do take care of whatever we can on the right of way trees and regularly trim the lower branches. We can get to about 15-20 feet up but beyond that, we need the professionals. Thank you.

There is a large, freshly deceased opossum laying in the street between SW Jewell and SW College on 8th Ave. It's near the place where the alley cuts between the two streets. Thanks in advance for removing it.

There is a large, adult, freshly deceased cat laying against tree in Willow Park. Location is approx.6th & Jewell. The tree is near the sidewalk that loops around the park. Cat is white with brown patches. thank you.

This redbud, a city tree near our property, has developed a severe split extending up the vertical length of one of its 3 major limbs. The portion of the tree connected to this limb is hanging low to the ground and is an obstacle for cars driving down 7th. We thought we'd try to trim it but are now thinking it's more of a project than we can take on ourselves. The tree has not been looking the healthiest on the trunk and bark for some time now. If you decide that it needs to leave completely, that's fine with us. If you think trimming it will take care of the issue, that's fine too. We are concerned the entire limb is going to snap off on the next windy day. It's getting lower and more split each day. The tree is located on the south side of 7th Ave between Jewell and the alley located mid-block between Jewell and College. It is situated between 2 large pin oak trees. Thanks.

The barricades for this open storm drain project have fallen in or been pushed into the hole. The hole is open on the 7th Avenue side and presents safety issues for pedestrians and motorists. Harris Construction is the sub working on this project.

I need a new update on the timeline for the completion of the storm drain repair at 7th & Jewell. Harris Construction is the contractor working on this project. 4 large concrete drain pipes have been sitting on Jewell (directly across from my driveway) for approx. a month now. Nearly 1 month ago, Harris said they would be installed the following week but no progress has been made. I need an update on what's going on with the work and when we can expect completion. Note: if I do not receive a complete response with a timeline for completion, this ticket will be shared on social media and with my city council representative. 2 prior tickets on this same issue have been archived without a full response to my questions and unfortunately, without resolution on getting this very extended repair brought to completion. 815 SW Lindenwood has had large piles of raw garbage and broken household items laying near 4 trash carts for over a month. It does not appear house had active trash service though someone is actively dumping trash on the site. Owner has had ample time to address issue. Property owner is Robert McElroy of Prairie Acres LLC.

This property has a large amount of garbage and dilapidated household items spilling out of the porch and yard. Items have been there over a week. Unsure if property is currently occupied. Vehicle with Colorado tags is in driveway. this property has had recurrent code issues.

The public sidewalk on the east side of the 600 block of Jewell Avenue is in a state of severe disrepair. The sidewalk has many significantly uneven sections, large cracks, and tall weeds and grass growing aggressively through the sections. Entire stretches of the sidewalk are now more cracks and weeds than they are intact concrete. For individuals in a wheelchair or who are unsteady on their feet, this sidewalk presents multiple mobility challenges. This is not a new issue (it's been rough for years) but the weeds and general deterioration have accelerated over the summer months. It is unacceptable for a sidewalk connected to a healthcare facility and owned by a corporate entity with sufficient funds to properly maintain their property to allow the sidewalk they are legally obligated to maintain to remain in this condition.

There is a large roll-off dumpster parked on the front lawn of this property. A couple of guys spent most of the weekend tossing the inside of this house into it. Lathe, plaster, wood, old insulation and materials very likely containing acbestos and lead: it's all in there. As this dumpster is very large and is blocking the sidewalk, I would like to know what's going on with this property. Is this the beginning of a demolition? How long can the dumpster (now completely full) sit there? This is a longtime unoccupied property with years of code violations. thank you.

Hi Forestry, This is a 2 part request: #1: we have a medium-large pin oak limb that fell during the 2nd to most recent storm. It is too large for us to process on our own. It is laying on the right of way along 7th Ave and Jewell. It is between Jewell and the alley (see photo for details). #2: the pin oaks, sycamore, and redbuds in the right of way of our corner of 7th and Jewell need routine trimming. We're not seeing anything alarming but the oaks and sycamore are large trees with some barren limbs and areas that look like they need some trimming. They are also sprouting new trunk growth at a height above what we can easily get with our lopers. We would appreciate you working on them when you are in our area.

This property has been unoccupied for years though very recently had a For Sale sign in the yard. The house was re-roofed last week and significant clean-up occurred in the yard (yeah!). However, there's no evidence this property has active trash service. The guys that did the roofing and yard clean-up left a small mountain of yard waste and roofing waste in the area where trash pick-up would occur. None of it was taken during trash pick-up this week. I'm not sure who contracted these workers for roofing and yard work but the property owner needs a plan for getting all of the waste materials off the property. It's encouraging to see positive developments with this property but discouraging to see that we're still not getting there with actually getting this waste out of the neighborhood. Thank you.

This tree snapped during a high wind event last week. It is blocking the public sidewalk. I am unsure if 801 SW Jewell is currently occupied.

This street sign was damaged 2 snow events ago. it needs to be replaced. it is located just north of the intersection at 7th and College Ave. it is near the NE corner. thank you.
