Description
How much tax payer money did we waste to have a cop parked in front of the Columbus statue last night and today? It's bad enough to have this ridiculous holiday to commemorate a pretty awful person, but major insult to injury to waste even more money defending the statue.

Washington and Jefferson did some things that are considered by today's standards as morally wrong, so shouldn't their statues come down?

I am going to get into a debate on Columbus's accomplishments and misdeeds. Bottom line if you don't like Columbus it does not give you the right to put graffiti on his statue. Law enforcement has the right and duty to prevent it. Would you want people to this with any historical figure's statue who they did not like?

What question did I ask about Columbus accomplishments and misdeeds?
You posted that NHPD appears to be perfectly fine with a young women getting assaulted this summer, can you prove this?. Again it is NHPD job to stop the vandalism to the statue

Sorry, this was originally in "other" a category that was not well monitored.
The statute was given "extra attention" in 2017 due to the non specific threats which means that normal patrol cars were circling more often. Unfortunately the statute was vandalized and cleanup required significant staff time. The pictured patrol was from after the cleanup to help to mitigate a second occurrence. If my recollection is correct the on duty officer was assigned to park there rather than the usual drive around.
